Sorry you are suffering from abandonment issues. I want to offer some resources, but I do not have personal experience with BPD.

Here are links to Psych Central that address your request

While I have never had this personally I think I can offer one piece of advice. Good communication can ease the mind and keep the fears at bay. It really helped past gf's who where fearful with me (I guess b/c they thought I was really cool?) Now I never did anything wrong to them but they got nervous from time to time I think b/c other girls would look at me when I didn't notice. (again not to sound full of myself ) But the point I'm trying to make is you and him can find ways of easing fears by talking together and being open and honest.

I.E. when my then gf was afraid of another girl stealing me I told her I would kiss her in front of the girl just to make it very clear who I was with. This made her feel very secure in our relationship. Sorry if that's TMI I just wanted to show how u 2 can brainstorm ideas together.
