I don't have Facebook anymore, but when I did, I accidentally sent a friend request to people a couple of times. They still have to accept it, of course.
It can only happen if the person was looking at your profile or looking at your name in someone else's list of friends. It only takes one click to send a friend request (no confirmation required.) Last edited by Anonymous200325; Sep 06, 2015 at 08:30 AM. Reason: addition |

Yes, they would have to have intentionally looked through someone else's friends list. That they accidentally added you I find highly inprobable. That their finger was accidentally hover over your name is unliikely. I choose to believe they were intentionally seeking you out.
Anyway, this presents a problem. That this person is a crush could be unfair to your present relationship. I guess it really depends on how your current partner feels about such things. If you feel uncomfortable asking, then there's your answer. It is obviously inappropriate. I'm interested to know other interpretations of this. |

I've done it. Under your "Friend Requests", they have a "People You May Know" list. I've accidentally added people, thinking it was part of the "Friend. Request" list.

The way I see it facebook 'friends' are pretty meaningless in most cases anyway. |
