Yesterday i was on the bus. After a dental appointment.I don't drive due to Epilepsy.I don't go around telling everyne IRL my private issues.Well there was this other client of the Epilepsy association on the bus. She was 4 seats away from me and could not keep her big mouth shut. She had to bring up stuff about the Epilepsy association about new social workers and was asking who i have as a social worker now. She was being very loud and obnoxious. The whole bus heard my personal business. Which was really none of their business. Thanks to the big mouth lady. People i don't know and some i know a little now know my business.I was told my this womens sister that she has a big mouth. Her sister was correct. This big mouth lady is not my friend. I just know her through Epilepsy support groups now. I'm afraid every time she is on the bus she will be that way.She always been rude and kind of Antisocial.

I'm so sorry this happened to you People with Big Mouths

May I suggest going to the Association and asking them to speak to her and explain there are laws against discussing someone else's private medical situations. Also, I would take it upon myself to tell her in no uncertain terms that your private life is just that PRIVATE.

The next time I was in that situation I would look at her very coily and say "Why, I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.". Then turn around and ignore her.

UCLA Fan,

Jean is right, the lady, with the megaphone for a mouth, is breaking the law.

I'm sorry this happened to you. Really shows bad manners, is very poor social behavior.

I talked to my social worker and she said she'd have a talk with this lady.My step mom says it's against the law for folks to do what she did.I knew it was against the law for social workers, nurses, doctors and counselors to discuss stuff.Unless u sign permission papers. But i did not know it could be that way for a client revealing another client's info.

Good for you UCLA!

Just a word of caution though, even though your social worker will talk with Mz Loudmouth, its very possible that due to her medical condition, she may find it hard to keep her mouth shut very easily. But, if you back it up with telling her straight forward when she starts blabbing again to knock it off....she may learn to get the hint and stop doing it. I do hope the talk will have it's desired affect!!

Well... try working on comebacks that will shut her up? Like if she mentions a social worker again, say loudly, OH??? YOU NEED A SOCIAL WORKER???? People with Big Mouths I'm sorry... maybe she needs her hearing checked, as those ppl often speak loudly and don't realize it. As for her being nosy... that must be a familial trait?

I know the talking to might not work.I could always be mean and say hey how many times this year have you gotten evicted. Her and her daughter get evicted 2 to 3 times a year. For not paying rent and who knows what else.
