Feeling betrayed and alone I like a guy from church but he told me he wants to be friends the problem is I think I love him and today he gave a speech and thanked everyone in the ward but me it hurt so much I feel like he doesn't care now I'm sitting in a chair at church really depressed. And he leaves in two weeks on his mission for two years

With a mission coming up, it seems poor timing to begin a romance. It would seem a distraction to that, imo.

I think him going on a mission certainly bad timing for romance for him. Plus if he says he wants to be friends I guess you have to accept. Sorry I know it sucks but many things can happen in two years
