I feel like my mom has forgotten about me.she blames me for my cousin hurting me (yes she said it) she's so involved in her church and believes no one else. Can be right and she neglects everything else she doesn't give me my meds she doesn't want. To take us anywhere she says she's tired and I understand but why do you always have time for church and no time for anything else

Passionfruit, i am sorry you feel neglected and ignored. I understand that you feel your mom is blindsided to her loyalties at the moment. Have you tried talking to her stating that you need more one on one time with her? Some people think that religion is everything and it meets the needs of the whole family. Well it doesn't. Spirituality does and there is nothing more spiritual then nuturing each other when we need it. Perhaps you can tell you mom something like that? Think through what you would like to say to her without it becoming confrontational or angry attacking her spiritual belief of religion. I wish you well on this. tc

You have pointed out your mother is in charge of doling out your meds so I am guessing you are relatively young.
If this is the case, and she is being selective over which meds you get, you need to talk to someone immediately. Call your psychiatrist or doctor. If I am incorrect and you are much older you need to get up the courage to talk to mom. Obviously she is not going to see eye to eye with you and be 100% agreeable but it is possible to for the two of you to make concessions. Instead of being a lockerheads perhaps there is a middle ground. |
