I am talking to this guy on a dating site, and it's looking like it might lead up to meeting IRL somewhere. I would like to disclose to him my struggles with mental health possibly before things get too serious, if they do that is. I want him to know what he's going to have to deal with upfront, rather than trying to hide it like I have with past relationships. Basically, though I hate to think of it as such, telling him right at the beginning is a test of sorts to see if he's open to being involved with me, issues and all, or not.
So, how do I go about doing this?

I think one needs to tell early on but not necessarily first date. Within first few dates. My fiancée told me on a third date. I did see it right away but wasn't sure exact diagnosis ( or if he takes Meds) until he told me. It doesn't bother me much as its nothing that serious. I myself don't have MI, but I've been seeing a t and I told him right away. Overall we shared almost everything important ( like issues) there was to share during first month of dating. Give it few dates and then tell him if you feel it's going somewhere.
