Trying to have a cheerful relationship with my husband but all too often we are out of sync. It sometimes seems like he is on a different planet because he answers like he doesn't know what I just said. In so many ways we are just such different people. I like visiting time I just wish it all went better.

Well... the Skeezyks doesn't know how old your husband is, PianogirlPlays. But being male himself, & an older one at that, he can attest to the fact that your husband may actually not know what you said.
Personally, I find that this is often the case with me. My wife is talking but I'm not paying attention. I just try to nod & say: "uh-huh" when it seems appropriate. I can't say if this is something that is tied to my mental health issues or if it's just a male thing. But it is the way it is for me. ![]()

Wow, the problem has worsened. I say things sometimes about feelings or struggles and all I seem to want is to be affirmed or supported. Somehow , he seems to think I want some kind of discourse on the topic. Ouch!

I guess I just mean spending time together. Lately it is like pulling teeth.
