I would like to have sex with my boyfriend after we get married, but I'm afraid that my past sexual abuse might cause some issues. What do you suggest I do about it? He's aware of my past and cares very deeply about me, but I don't want to upset him if having sex with him will trigger me.

Are you seeing a therapist? If not, that might be worth considering--particularly if you have had issues with sex in the past.

I second what Bill said there.

The problem is that I've never had sex, so I don't know how I would react to it.

You could still speak to a therapist. What do you think of that idea?
When might you get married? |

Who knows, maybe you'll be lucky like me, and experience no trauma during sex, despite a traumatic past.
These things aren't carved in stone, and I'd be weary of self fulfilling prophecies in your shoes. I would say find a T, even just to be on standby.

What Trippin said. I can't comment from experience, but I think that before you dwell too much on what ifs it is wise to explore therapy, and get yourself into a different head space, so to speak so that you aren't getting into the realm of self-fulfilling prophecies.
