Omg I was at a church small group party last night and sitting with these people friends around a table when suddenly they these two friends just got up and left without even saying goodbye or anything. One of them said brb and then left. Why would they do that?? I FB messaged one of them after and said hey did you leave? I was going to say bye. And they said yeah, sorry, I kind of snuck out. No reason, I just left.

How many people remained with you at the table after these people left?

Maybe they were annoyed of something and didn't want to say anything about it!! I would definitely do that.

I hope you don't assume that they left because of you! I will admit that I've left without telling anyone before, usually because of my anxiety and insecurities. Try not to put too much personal meaning into the incident.

I wouldn't take it personally, sometimes the act of saying goodbye to even just one person can draw attention to leaving, which maybe they didn't want? Were either of them under the weather? That's a possibility for not thinking about niceties.

I don't see what the big deal is really. I do it often because I find "goodbyes" and that awkward/fake side hug a bit uncomfortable. No it's not often polite but I don't mean for others to take it seriously and I don't mind it either. It's not your fault.
