Anyone else have family members who presume to know what you're thinking and tell you so?
I've had all kinds of weird accusations about what I must be thinking. I see it as an affront. If they want to know what I'm thinking, then they should ask, not presume to know. Thoughts? I'm starting to think it's nothing more than projection on their part. They aren't interested in honesty, they're interested in getting a reaction. Or just projecting their own flaws outward, so they don't have to deal with them.

My dad... always thought he knew exactly what I (or anyone else) thought about anything, and it would go something like this:
"I know you did it, (and/or WHY) because that's exactly what I would have done!! (and/or WHY) With my dad, it's usually a classic case of projection. And YES, it is almost always infuriating. But also sometimes, comical. >^..^< Sent from my XT1045 using Tapatalk |

To me, it's just a reminder that no matter what people say or do, they say or do those things, because, in their mind, it seems right to them.
