Hi, well I booked a trip to Australia some time ago and I'm now scheduled to go next week. In still going through some personal turmoil and not sure if I'm up for this. Because I'm struggling, I really haven't been planning the trip like I usually do - so right now in winging it. Good lord I hope I can remember everything because my mind is really crowded right now. I'm sure as travel day approaches I'll be more nervous. Also, going alone might give me too much time to think! Dizzy and tired - thanks

I'm sure you'll be fine mac. Why don't you send us back a report of what you've done and what you're going to do,say every couple of days, make us all jealous. DON'T SIT ABOUT THINKING, PARTICULARLY IN COFFEE SHOPS. Not sure what you have planned but I guess even if you're not a swimmer you have to go snorkelling off the great barrier reef. You never know you might meet someone.
Thanks for this!

Have a great time Mac, it sounds like just the thing to get away from it all and get a change of scene.

In terms of fretting about your lack of plans, I find making lists a great help in organising and getting my thoughts together. Of course there's nothing you can't pick up when you're over there so as long as you have tickets, passport & cash card you'll be okay.

I don't know I just have this eerie feeling that I've never had before - like I've crossed the point of no return and I ain't coming back. I feel like green jello.

Anxiety can do that, keep practising your grounding techniques, breathing, whatever helps focus you. Remind yourself that just because you feel like this it doesn't mean it's true.

The Land Down Under is an awesome place. Even if you don't have an itinerary per say you'll find plenty to do and see

That's what people in Victorian Times felt when they were transported from Britain to the colonies, ie australia, for stealing a loaf of bread. Are you sure you weren't one of those in a past life. Haha.
Seriously though Mac I'm sorry you are feeling so bad. All I can say is go throw yourself into doing things out of your comfort zone. Maybe snorkeling, going into the Bush (hmm could have put that better), camel riding etc, etc, everything at the moment is in your head. Get out and live a little. Now if only I could take my own advice.

I don't travel too much, so don't listen too closely...

I am much more laid back about travel than I used to be....not the actual travel bit, but the need to be in control. It scared me to think I might forget something...

Now I figure I can get toothpaste anywhere...

Seriously though. Ask yourself what's the worst that can happen? If it happens, it would probably happen wherever you are.

I also vote for updates and pictures so that I can live vicariously...
