I want this woman to get psychiatric help I am really concerend for her. She keeps harressing me. First it was phone calls. One of them I saved. She said "You should die *****" I swear i never mistreated her. In fact just before she became so harsh with me we were to visit each other. We knew each other for at least four years. I swear I never did anything to deserve her current treatment of me. Copied and pasted her Facebook pms to me.

This person sounds psychotic, very delusional. Are you safe? Because if this person is in any position to cause you harm, you need to let authorities know. If a person I had known for a long time suddenly behaved in such a manner I would be concerned for them but also for myself. Also, harassment/stalking over the phone is illegal. That is a start anyway.

It is difficult for me to understand what she is attempting to say. Her thoughts seem rather disjointed and she is, very obviously, paranoid. I'd hate to feed the paranoid-schizophrenics-are-murderous-monsters rhetoric, but well, untreated they certainly aren't the best roommates. (I am assuming she is a Paranoid Schizophrenic) In her current state, she is dangerous to herself, you, and her family. And possibly Marilyn Manson, as she seems to think he's some sort of God. I would say keep your distance, do not entertain her-by which I mean do not answer her messages, and notify authorities of her behavior. But this is all common sense.

Thanks for your response and concern. Just know the apt building is 24/7 guarded by staff at the front desk. I always lock my door. Use a doorclub too. Plus never told her where I live.

I havent read your whole post but wanted to give some info... here in america when someone has proof of someone else harassing, or otherwise abusing another the way to stop the situation from continuing is to contact your local police department, filing a report then getting a restraining order (protection order) this paper states that if the person who has been proven to be harassing, bullying or abusing another does it again they can get arrested and then spend up to 25 years in prison in some USA states.

as for the person getting help. the way to get this person help in stopping their harassing or otherwise abusive behavior is to contact law enforcement. the person goes to court to answer to the crime and the court mandates that person into treatment for what ever problems causes them to harass others.

I do not understand how your comment could be offensive, but I appreciate your taking the time to ensure it was not taken so. It is my understanding that you would need to be able to demonstrate this person is a possible danger in order for anything to be done, so your concerns are not unfounded. A message reading "I will kill you" for example, though certainly not desired, would do the trick most definitely. Hopefully it does not reach a point where the authorities are needed and ignoring is the extent of actions necessary.
I noticed the references to Joaquin Phoenix, indeed, but had no idea who that was. Honestly, it was difficult to tell what was and wasn't a typo, which would indicate she was not in a clear state of mind. One can infer quite a few things from a message alone. Her rather odd format, for instance, indicates she had a point she was attempting to "drive home", as they say. The use of short almost-sentences tells me she believed what she was saying would simply knock you to the ground with its weight. The constant spelling errors indicates she was typing in a frenzy, which tells me she was quite worked up. Her corrections directly beneath indicate she thinks herself quite clever. I say this because a person who does not think themselves clever would not bother with proper spelling and grammar, especially when in such a frenzied state. In short: She found you out, became bloody pissed, and wanted to make sure you knew. This last bit was completely pointless, I know. It helps you in no way.

for me I dont take time worrying about whether someone online (facebook or where ever) are delusional and such. I use the website tools to protect myself and leave their side of things up to them

example

this site has an ignore feature I use frequently when I find someones posts or they them selves are not what I want to encounter.

facebook I unfriend if the person triggering me is on my friend list, click block so that they can not refriend \send me a friend request. or other wise harass me.

twitter also has their own version of self help tools and report options that will enable people to protect their self from internet harassment and triggering postings,

just about every self help website now have their own rules, tools and help options for situations like this...

my suggestion if this continues to bother you report, block, unfriend and what have you for self help tools that the site where this is happening, happens.

bottom line and what I live by is that we can can not control what others do. and if in the USA we can not force someone into treatment, only they and their treatment providers or law enforcement can do that.

if you dont want to report or use what ever other tools the site where this is happening is, thats up to you. we cant tell you what to do or how to handle this situation and this site doesnt allow us to make a diagnosis of others including our family, friends, those we encounter on the internet...

Yes the way she writes is quite strange. She does seem to writing in a frenzy etc She can be rational when not in such a troubled state. We met on an online forum for Joaquin Phoenix fans. Uncertain of PC spam policy so to be safe side don't want to include a link. Truth is we used to be very good friends. She even invited me her daughter's 'Sweet 16" I am still FB friends with her husband, daughter. She and I used to visit each other in town or near her home. Visited her at home too. Mentioned the actor because many of her messages mention him. IOW a lot of her pms are delusional concerning him. One of many examples is I raped him. I never even met him!!! She claimed she bought River back to life. I'm mentioning these as examples of her bizarre delusions. I hope that's clear.

here in the USA the only people that can .....force....someone to get treatment of any kind be it for mental illness or physical health, eating disorders what have you is law enforcement as in if she is a danger to herself or others someone calls 911 or the police. they come and do a well check which is check on the person in question and assess whether they are in fact being a danger to their self or others. if so they (the police, paramedics...) take action according to what is going on.

friends and family can call on someone they know and report them but that does not mean that person is going to get treatment..

example you can say hey I think you need some help here how about going to the ER with me. and unless she is being a danger (suicidal, homicidal....) she as an american has the right to say no and go on her way. you cant force her to accept she may need treatment you cant force treatment on to her. only law enforcement can do that based on whether they think she is a danger to herself or others.

the only other way someone can be forced into treatment is if the court mandates it or she has a guardian (someone else that is making her health decisions for her) that guardian can take her to the er and have the er assess whether she needs to be in the mental hospital system or not. but again that is limited based on what rights that the law and law enforcement (police and courts) have given the guardian over that person.

as a friend all you can do is say hey I think you need help and leave it in her hands unless she becomes a danger to herself and others in which case you call 911.

your local police and mental health agencies can go more in detail about what the law says you can do for this person in whether this person gets help or not.
