I don't know. I don't defend him because he is very rude with his blocking style and clueless in other aspects . But as with a life style I think it's rather common to spend less time with friends as we age and have kids. Especially if one works a lot. And not everyone needs a lot of time with friends. It doesn't always mean lonely. I think in my books that is the only positive thing about this guy is that he spends time with his kid rather hanging out with friends and has predictable life. I take boring and predictable over exciting any time ( now , not when I was young). Give me boring lol but then again you are younger , I am just thinking from middle age stand point lol

This guy is an idiot regardless though. Of course he liked you. What's not to like. His loss. But I understand not having things in common. I was married to someone with whom I had ZERO in common. Bad idea. Overall things worked to your advantage here.

I'm just trying to distance myself in my mind and cope, honestly. I do think he's lonely, but I don't necessarily think he's boring. I just think that he has changed and withdrawn inward a bit. Even he says he has. Maybe not a bad thing, but when you struggle with depression, isolating isn't a good thing.
