I was made for friendville. Every woman I meet says they have a boyfriend, and the women I think are interested in me, always say after a time that they would rather be friends. On one hand, I find it hard not to resent this station of a brother status with a woman; on the other hand, maybe this is where I am made to be. I wonder if that's not just my status in life being a woman's brother from another mother. Just to be in a woman's life under whatever circumstances is good by me because then I don't have to fix myself alone.

I refer to this last statement as the potential seed of the problem. If you are expecting women to "fix" you, and therefore treating them like they should, this may very well hinder any romance developing.
