This is weird right? So my husband is in the military so we move around. This neighborhood is mostly officers and that can be tricky to navigate. One woman, now we have hung out alone we went to see the new Star Wars movie together but she's thrown up some red flags. Nothing major but just am I reading to much into this? So firstly she just had a baby 6 months ago, my youngest is almost 2 she likes to compare my post pregnancy body to hers even tho we have different body types. She's very chesty where I carry my weight in my tummy and butt. Mostly that i don't need to work out or shutting me down when someone brings up the gym and I want to go. Next at play group I wore shorts, now I was not dressed to empress more like mom dressed to loung lol I had denim cut offs that I cut so they were not short shorts, a sports bra and an over sized T. Like nothing fancy, she makes a comment then starts telling everyone she saw me in my bikini sun bathing. Aka in the sprinkler with my kids lol in a tankini that makes me look like a sad Wonder Woman lol with sweat shorts over my bottoms. So that following weekend my husband had homework to finish and my son naps from 12-3 I was like perfect my daughter and I will go to the neighborhood pool. I shot a text to some of the ladies in the neighborhood just saying hey my daughter and I are gonna head to the pool around 12 ish, if anyone wants to come hang out. after getting my son down and slathering sun screen on my daughter then walking down I get there at 12:20, you're late! She yells at me, I'm like 12 ish I'm here i had to get my son down. Well we have to go out kid takes naps.... Her husband has also been little strange with me, he was upset that his baby spit up on his shirt, like really angry and like a dummy I jump in the middle to try and defuse the situation. My mom used to fly off the handle so I'm conditioned. I say awe your a parent you don't get clean clothes hahaha joke lets not loose our **** at a one year olds birthday lol. He gets real mean and again like a dummy I point to the bbq sauce on my shirt my son lovingly smeared there. He looks me dead in the eye points at my husband who was having a conversation on the other side of the yard and says "he's clean!" I was just dropped it and walked away. Like what the heck. They also seem to think that my husband is in charge where he works just because he runs pt, they have confronted me about lost paper work that my husband has nothing to do with, they have tried to drop of ticks to my house to be tested for lyme. She's also one of those people who talks over other people so you can't get a word in edge wise.


Any ways I'm right to keep these people at arm length right? My childhood really messed up my perceptions, be nice always rings in my head.

Also if anyone has any tips for making mom friends that would be awesome!!!

absolutely keep this couple at arm's length. Not only is she judgemental and very superficial, he seems to be and kind of degrading to women tbh.

I'm not a mom, I am a separated "single" father and really have no social skills outside of what goes on in my mind when I pretend I actually have friends hahahahaha

I'm sure someone here can help though with that part!

Thank you all. I swear I have no instincts well I do when it's really bad. Ok I just didn't know if I was reading to much into it. its even worse because growing up I was that nerdy weirdo.... I still kinda am, most of my bummy tshirts have something nerdy on them.
