I have them every once in a while. My sister came over a few weeks ago, and we just had a really good time, talking about whatever was on our minds. She is a good conversationalist, though, and did most of the work.
I really want to be more engaging with some people. I made it a point to listen to some advice from this

There really is nothing like a good conversation. We used to tear apart ideas, and sometimes test the boundaries of things. I miss him. I wish I could find more people irl like him.

I have them everyday....with myself! I miss the days off a good cup of coffee and a good conversation. With everyone knowing of my mental illness, I think they believe I can't speak or complete a sentence (medication sometimes makes that a reality). I had great conversations when I was hospitalized, it's a shame I can't when I'm out.

I agree good conversation is more about attitude than content, although content is important too.
I'm lucky I often have great conversation with my spouse and son, they are both interesting people with different takes on life to me. I have several friends I can talk for hours with too, given the chance. |

I had quite a few enlightening conversations with my martial arts teacher/mentor a few months ago. I joined his classes when I was around 15 or 16 (tough times) and he always assured me of my worth and abilities. He took me to my first tournament, gave me a summer job, and gave me perspective. This was both helpful and foreign to me at the time. I haven't had a lot of male influence in my life due to my mother being a single parent, so having that father figure supplementation was very much appreciated.

A few times with my instructor before he left and he got a girlfriend ¬¬
Happens a lot since i can talk to a lot of people, aso one of my bestfriends. We can chat almost about anything, from the most mundane chat to something more personal or hard to think. We both love science and computers, so, we have it similar, also he's very smart. Most of the times i'm alone, so i chat pretty good with my 1rst female best friend, she passed away a couple of years ago, but in some other way, i could tell she actually listens and chats in her own way. |
