Need help dealing without my mother. Haven’t talked or seen her in a while and am struggling to fill the hole a mother leaves when she’s not there. Not that she was ever a slightly motherly person or someone who understood me.

My wife just passed away and I am facing the same dilemma - it's called Codependency - in which I am at a loss for what to do next or even why. I know I can get over this and begin making a life for myself and hopefully NOT get into another Codependent relationship. My lifelong sense of dependency and passiveness is overwhelming me now BUT, thanks to therapy and self esteem studies, I am pretty sure I'll be up and running again soon. I just got so used to being led and guided all the time that it feels very weird not having her here to direct and "help" me. Whew, Codependency really SUCKS!
