I signed up for my required classes this year, and have my ex of 1 year in 2 of them. He was the one who broke up with me, yet he stares and tries to create a bond with me again. He says something to me every time. Mostly, I try to ignore him, but then I catch him staring again. He also stares at my friends that are single....
What should I do?

Play it cool. Probably might make it less awkward in the long run. So if you can, I'd suggest maintaining some light hearted kind of friendship with small talk, "Hope you had a good weekend" and go about your way doing what you were going to do. As for him starting at single friends, well .... try not pay attention to that.

Hard to when they mention it to me...but when I try to talk to him, he turns it more emotional or heartfelt than I want

If it hurts to talk to him then I'd keep my distance. Him checking out you and your friends is just his other head thinking

Thanks. I try, yet he insists on partnering me...
