My friend Josh is 18(I forgot if he is still 17 or is 18 now) but that isn't important. Ever since he saw a physatrist(spelling?) in 2009 and the physatrist found out he had depression and social anxiety, his parents had him on "lock down"/ "punishment" they homeschooled him but they stopped teaching him 4 years ago and he hasn't gone through all of the hs grades because he wasn't given any books. He has had no social interaction with people his age since 2009, the only social interaction he has is on holidays when he gets to see his family members(aunt uncles) he has mentioned he gets panic attacks that he can't help during that and which causes his parents to yell/ hit him on the way home. So, why don't most parents punish their kids for having a mental illness such as what Josh has(social anxiety, depression) or the other mental illnesses(ocd, ptsd, autism, asperbers, hyprocondriat, normal anxiety, panic attacks, skitzophrenia) I am 2 years younger than him we only talk through email I have not seen him since 2009 when we were really younger. My parents get mad at me to for my mental illness but not to the extreme of josh's. why do his parents do it?

This isn't the first time you talk about abusive parenting.. even if it's your friend now.

Can you guys do ANYTHING to solve this situation? You have access to an Internet connection, so that's already something. Please, contact someone - police, or some organization that helps you deal with this stuff in your country - that can help you escape from this nightmare. I'm being serious. It's for your own good.
Thanks for this!

I agree with Mickey.
Locking someone down because of a mental illness is an unseen abuse that has to be broken.

It seems like you have talked about " him" before. Contact police and ask for help for your "friend"

You have access to the Internet so there is no reason to not reach out for help.

Good wishes

This is the same post over and over again. And alas, none of our advice given repeatedly is acknowledged or taken in.
Thanks for this!

There is another poster here who has a similar "friend" and similar issues...It's a small world I think

That aside, perhaps you could do some more reading on PC to see if that other person got any help?

Good luck.

The police don't do anything yet I called them a few times
for my bad situation and most recently for my friends. I have tried some of the advice given

Then there is nothing you can do for your friend, I'm sorry for that.

Focus on you're life.
