I've lately been thinking of how kindness and turning away from anger or vengeful replies is the only way to improving matters. Anger etc is only self defeating making things worse for all.

Sounds like you might be on to something. Especially if you have problems with anger.

Anger itself is natural and not negative in and of itself. It's how you handle it and behave based on it that becomes a problem. in all actuality, trying to suppress anger instead of dealing with it in a more healthy way is actually likely to cause other emotional problems. Accept that you will get angry about things at times. Learn to handle it differently if you have a problem with angry outbursts or something else related to angry behavior.

Smart you have to overcome anger in order to be happy. Anger can be healthy at times but you have to know what you can an cannot change in life an accept it

Anger is an emotion. You can not stop your self from feeling it. Kindness on the other hand is an action. You can decide how to act
