If a spouse is depressed and ask for a divorce. How would you deal with this?
Not sure if it is the depression talking or my spouse really wants to split up. Anyone with any ideas?

When I'm in episodes, I decide to divorce every now and then, this has not led to divorce anyway. Sometimes I doubt myself wether it's real or just side effect of illness.
She might be needing you very much and at the same time pushing away, not allowing to comfort her.

Is he seeing a Therapist or Doctor ? On any medications?

Would he be willing to go to marriage counseling?

My former husband was having a major depressive episode when he divorced me. I think other women were a shot of adrenaline and distraction for him. We are not in contact, so I don't know if he got better or not. He just disappeared, no talking, no counseling, nothing. We were married 41 years and I had no idea this was coming.
