The right thing is to not stereotype an individual.

Perhaps you are concerned about romance scams online?

We all need to be cautious of everyone we meet no matter what their ethnicity (including your own). IF you like someone, observe how they treat other people. If he is kind to you, give him a chance. The minute you catch him in a lie, run for the hills.

Where did you meet him? In person or online? If online and lives abroad, I'd suggest to ignore him. If in person, it's your decision, if you feel comfortable with him or not. As someone from another ethnicity myself who lives in the west, you don't have to prove a point. I don't expect people to accept me. The only thing I expect from people is to be tolerant and not attacking me. Accepting him is a completely different story and it's a personal preference. That being said, what you see in the media is only a fraction of the reality.
