Hi today I met a new person and i told him he i gave him my number and i forgot to ask for his anyways i asked if we could text and he said sure. and i said i want to be friends and i think you are cool and he said thankyou and after i saw him i wave to him and he wave with a smile and i said hi and he said hi back? is this a good sign

Sure. I hope he texts. Sometimes people are shy, so if he doesn't be prepared. Maybe you will see him again and warm up to each other more.
