I got to go away for the weekend with my gf.

We were best friends from age 13-17. That's when she met her h and got busy with him, and I went to college. Even though we live 1 1/2 hours away all these years, we never got together all this time until recently, when I insisted. Now we're best friends again.

During this weekend, we shared a life time of stories. She knew me when I was a free spirited kid. We both felt exactly like we once were this whole weekend.

We had such a great time. Laughed our asses off. She said there is and never was any PD with me, and I am an imbecile to not just get along with my h, who is as nice as any man can be. (How I wish it were just that easy!)

She knew my parents from back then, too, and was surprised to hear my mom became like she is now. She agreed with my feelings about this final abusive incident.

We talked about going away again soon. It felt so good to be with a nice friend, get along great, and just feel fine!
