Hi, I'm 13 and I have 2 friends who live in another country. I haven't seen them in almost a year and I've been desperate to see them since I don't have any friends in the country I currently live in. Today my parents said that this Summer I can go and stay with them for 2 weeks. I thought I'd be really excited, but instead I got this weird feeling in my stomach like I wanted to puke and felt insanely nervous. Why do I feel like this? My friends are like my sisters, we message each other all the time over emails and we've been super close for years. I'm so confused by myself. I have anxiety, but still... why? I'm not scared of getting on a plane or being in another country or anything, I only get that sickening feeling when I think about seeing my friends again. Please help!

Do you have any worries or concerns about seeing them?

Do you struggle with social anxiety? I think it's perfectly normal to feel this way. You've never met these people face-to-face, so of course you'd feel nervous. Do you think there may be any other reasons for your anxiety?

No, I don't. I can't think of anything I could be worried about.

No, I don't have social anxiety, although I am quite anti-social in real life. I have met them in real life before, we went to school together for about 18 months. I can't think of anything that could be triggering my anxiety.

It's okay to feel apprehensive/nervous about the meet up. They're good friends of yours and it's a great thing that you have all remained in contact.

I think you will have a fabulous time when you all get together as the odds are in your favour, given that you have a close bond like sisters
