Was texting with someone the other night, that I have only known a short time and they randomly said "Cool, I had other friends tell me that"
I didn't think much of it but since they said "other friends" rather than "my friends" or whatever... does that mean they consider me a friend? I am bad at knowing this sort of stuff. |

I think it's the other way around.. if he did told "my friends" referring to the others, then it means you wouldn't have been included, don't you think?

Yes, he considers you one of his friends by that comment.

Acquaintances become friends. Be casual and relaxed. Don’t over think it. Don’t try to force anything or act insecure. Just act like a friend.
