How long has it been since you have been in love. What happened?

Thirty years ago. It was a love with incredible highs and devastating lows. We broke up and married other people on the rebound less then 6 months later. We both realized that we’d made a mistake and wanted to be together. I took my vows seriously and I would not leave or cheat on my husband so we went our separate ways. It took so many years to get over him. As fate would have it, he is a relative of my brother-in-law so he’s never been totally out of my life.

He called me a few years ago about getting back together after we were both divorced (I was married for 20 years). I declined because I need more stability then the high highs and low lows. I won’t let myself care again....there was just too much pain. Have I made a mistake? Possibly. We are still in contact.

How about you?
