Have you ever met that special person who magically makes your world shrink until it's just you and him? I have. I never knew there was someone so beautiful, on the inside as much as the outside, on this earth.

I never thought I'd be capable of romantic love. We spent 7 hours together last Saturday night; no sex, just talking, walking, drinking, talking, smoking, and more talking. Oh, and the occasional high five or fist bump. We're nerdy and awkward.

Let me be the first to say, I don't know him well enough to say I love him. But I'm definitely infatuated. I haven't felt like this in years. And he might feel the same way back! We were literally finishing each others sentences. I've never met anyone else who can keep up with my ADHD or many conversational tangents like he does. He even stumbles over his words like I do; I asked if his mind goes faster than his mouth can and he said "yes! That's exactly why!"

We have so much in common, I regularly had to make sure I wasn't dreaming or hallucinating. But other people saw us at the bar and know him from around town so it was real.

I'm hanging out with him and two of my friends next Saturday night, which could technically be called a double date. But I don't wanna rush into anything or take whatever this is too fast. I just want to spend time with him and get to know him more and feel my heart pound like a war drum.

What's strange is, even though I'll see him in a few days, I feel somehow less alive when I'm not with him or talking to him. I know that sounds crazy. And I'm showing extraordinary restraint by not calling him and only sending one text at a time until he responds. I do not wanna blow this!

Sorry this turned into a novel and thanks for reading. I welcome any advice or ideas on how to act natural around him on Saturday!! Eek!!

I am not a relationship expert. For me, I do not click with that many people but when the feeling is as strong as you are describing--the feeling usually lasts. I think you have the right idea about restraint because you said, "until he responds." Just take your cues from him. Focus on being a good listener, pay attention to his body language, etc.

Thought I'd post an UPDATE since these things rarely go so well for me! We've been together a little over two months now. I'm living with him and we're very much in love. I never knew I could feel this way about another human. I don't wanna think about how miserable my life would be if we hadn't met that fateful September day. I never believed in "The One" until I met him
