No need to relate the specifics. Some might think them trivial. But the point is that it wasn't to me. I was left feeling hurt and taken advantage of. I spoke up about my thoughts and feelings and it resulted in a day of coldness and awkwardness. There was still a little akwardness this morning but my world should return to a happy normal.
But the thing is that it wasn't me who had done anthing wrong. Yet I have ended up feeling regret and guilt for speaking up. I feel regret and guilt for the tension that followed. It was a catch-22. Not say anything and allow the incident to fester or say something and have a fight. Sigh, there just was no winning with this situation. Thoughts? What do you tend to do; speak up or ignore? |

You might want to read up on co-dependent relationships. A common strategy is to keep a partner quiet by creating a painful disruption if they dare to speak.

I think unless your life depends on it or the person is really dangerous, otherwise it is always better to speak up above all in relationships.
