Someone on another forum seems to have a crush on me and is convinced I'm the best thing that's ever happened in the world. Of course, I know I'm definately not the best thing that's ever happened, I have the worth of a squashed slug

I like him as a friend but realistically I'm much too damaged to ever be able to try to be anything more than a friend to anyone.

How can I let him down gently if he starts flirting with me again? So far I've ignored his flirty comments and just answered the friendly comments he's been making.

Hey, Whisper! In my opinion, honesty is always the answer.

If he didn't get the hint with your ignoring his flirty messages, you might have to acknowledge it and say something. I believe something along the lines of "I'm flattered, but I'm not looking for anything right now/like you as a friend/let's keep it PG" should do the trick.

I totally agree with above! Hon, any true friend worth having will completely understand and respect your wishes. Best of luck

Gah, I know this is not the answer you're looking for, but I'd tell it straightforwardly. People tend to get really disappointed where their time is potentially wasted because another person is not giving the answer when it is well known to them
