I saw an old drawing from my young child which was totally innocent. It was of a person helping someone climb a tree. It was named 'man helping girl up a tree'
I was of a man underneath the child pushing her up but his hands were placed on her backside... Again, nothing to it at all.

This literally stopped me in my tracks and made me remember when I was 12 I remember drawing pictures and calling them 'man touching me up' it was a drawing of someone laying down and a man touching her groin.

I also remember my nan sharing a bed with me and touching me over my knickers.

It makes me feel sick to the stomach and even though I know it happened I've tried so hard to suppress it but this drawing has literally made it all come back an I feel flooded by it.

What can I do? I burst into tears shortly after seeing it.

Should I seek therapy? If so, which type?

We are all going out for a day trip today with my partner. I desperately want to speak with him about it but it's obviously not the right time at all!
He also has a big sorting event tomorrow so I don't want to hinder that

Yes, find a therapist who has dealt with childhood sexual abuse. Often memories are repressed and then return in adulthood. Therapy will help you deal with and process the emotions surrounding the events for you. Very sorry this happened to you - how awful. :/
Thanks for this!

Sorry to hear that. I do think therapy is the way to go. Any therapist would be helpful.

Thanks for replies.

Do you think I should speak to my partner about this?

I feel a little lost. On one hand I've got lots of things swirling around my head and feel the need to offload but on th enotjer hand the thought of telling people scares the hell out of me

Although it’s important to be honest, it’s not required to be an open book with your partner 24/7. Just go and see a therapist. Telling or not telling your partner isn’t an urgent matter.
