it has been two weeks now and i have been free from him. why does it hurt so much? all the bruises have healed, but the wound in my heart is so fresh. i have support from my coworkers. i have lost everything though. he has been threatening me and i know he does it to show he is in control. How can I break free from this tormenting pain in my heart?

Is it possible to get away on a vacation or go away for the weekend to have a sabatical from your problems? All I can recommend is to find a hobby really fast or take up martial arts, yoga or something to occupy your time and strengthen your mind. much luck. Sesquix

Give yourself time. It has not been that long. Time heals just about everything, but it takes time.

Take care of yourself and keep occupied, that helps.

If he has left any verbal threats on answering machine or voice mail. You could always file harassment charges against him and get a restraining order if you feel your life is in danger. You could also go stay with a friend out of town if necessary, or as mentioned go through some type of martial arts class. The pain in your heart will ease with time, trust me I know. My exhusband divorced me after he told me he never loved me. We were together for 6 years.
