It's nice to be able to have a way to access information as well as get support. I wish I had had that years ago when I was struggling, there were no computers like there are now, not even cell phones. Much more available for help now then back when I was experiencing challenges.

There is another thing that happens when children witness their father treat their mother badly. They can develop a monkey in the middle problem where they want to love both their parents and feel stuck in the middle somehow. They feel it but don't have enough life experience to understand what that feeling is or how to get rid of it.
Being the youngest child of three I experienced that badly. My father was mean to my mother and my older sister was mean to my older brother and I always felt like I was in the middle of these tug of wars. I just wanted to love my family and was often faced with my sister wanting me to be mean to my brother because she did not like him and then trying to figure out what I could do to somehow create some positives with each parent. People like to think children don't know or pay attention, that is definitely wrong, they tend to struggle A LOT and can develop some life time anxieties they often don't even know where they come from or why they struggle with it. |
