Hi. I have a regular issue with people, usually in the older generation, constantly pestering me to send them photos of me. I used to think giving them one photo would satisfy them but they continue to pester me (sometimes on a daily baisis) to take selfies and new photos to send them. I am wondering if a lot of people behave this way.

It's always been men, some my age but mostly 20-30 years older than me. They range from men who show romantic interest to my estranged father who walked out on me when I was 6 and became possessive after I grew up.

Some of these people are old family friends or people I can't just ignore. Does anyone else encounter a lot of photo obsessed people who won't back off when you say you're sick or too busy to take photos regularly to satistfy their demands? I don't think I am more attractive than average. I usually wear frumpy clothes that I don't mind getting dirty. Men used to get really obsessed with my mom too and I look a bit like her.

So can anyone say if it's just me or does everyone know a lot of people who are just really greedy for photos of you?

I cannot say that anybody in my life is asking me for photos of myself like that. But when I used to be on trashy dating sites like POF and OkC, it happened often.

You sound like you are saying only sometimes its of the romantic interest type. I'm going to go out on a limb and say probably every single man who has wanted a picture of you has had sexual intent. Like the reason they're asking, is sexual. Especially if he is pestering you and won't leave you alone.

In regards to your dad, I'd need more info.

If you give in and send photos, they will keep bothering you.

not random people.

If you don't want to send photos, then why don't you just not send any? Simple as that. You're not obligated to do anything you don't want to do.

Well if its online dating sites then its very common, of course you dont have to there either. .. If its family or friends? If you say no and they continue to ask.... simply ignore the request, do not respond.

No people aren’t particularly greedy for my pictures. Who are these men who want your pictures? Family members who can’t see you often might want to see your picture but not on a regular basis either. But some men or friends? Seems a bit bizarre to me
