So I'm not a mom, but my response was going to be to just ask him...which you did...and I suspected the same as his response. I know it seems like the world is all focused on building a perfect social media story, but I actually know a lot of people (myself included) who only really use it for work, and they don't share personal stuff on it. So, for what that's worth...I'm a dog mom, does that count for anything?

Haha...as soon as I read your first five words "I'm not a mom" I thought oh, but you are SUCH A MOM, a dog mom! Then at the end you said, "I'm a dog mom, does that count for anything?" My word, that counts for everything! And...I told son about you...how you told me I should get a dog because, "every life needs a dog." My son and his girlfriend have two gorgeous and goofy rescue dogs...my granddogs. You know...can't really say what their mix is because they are rescues but maybe terrier pits...is that right? They are gorgeous lovable goofballs. My son was out walking them when we were talking, and it was trash day in his city, and he was irritated because the grand-dogs were stopping every two feet to sniff sniff sniff. Well, both of them post pictures of their dogs...and she also has a rescue squirrel! who gets in a lot of posts. Tonight he said, "I'm just worried about my business is all..." and "I mean I am not whacked out on drugs or anything...I am just obsessed about my business right now." I don't know what is going on with "His or Her" whatever...their relationship...why they do what they do...and for now I don't care. The main thing is they and the grand-dogs are healthy and well. I really, really want a dog. It is an intention for the future...but I am in that dreamy place of imagining being a dog guardian again. It's nice. ![]() Yes, you are an esteemed member of the Mom's Club. ![]()

Moms club -too cute
You son sounds sweet. Business owners do focus on their business so much and it’s totally understandable that it takes ton of time and energy. His dogs sound adorable. I appreciate all kind of animals but have no desire to have one (I used to have a cat years ago that I kind of ended up with, she was a sweetie but it wasn’t my choice). My husband has to come to terms with it, he always had cats and he wants one now but he knows that i don’t. So I am just human’s mom lol Well I guess I am cat’s grandma. My daughter has a gorgeous cat she is obsessed with lol and she wants another one. So that’s that. |

Yep, Mom's Club! So I ended up telling my son I was so worried about him that I was talking about him to the Mom's Club (informal) on Psych Central. That's when he offered an explanation for his behavior. And of course the pandemic has him freaked out. He's a stoic. He does keep things inside. Somehow talking about the Mom's Club opened him up. (He knows I have lots of Internet connections.) Anyway it opened things up and he turned me on to a webinar for older adults working on their own...because I freelance write. So all is good. Oh, you are a cat granny! Cool. I love my goofball grand-dogs. My son is very sweet...but can be gnarly when worried. He is extremely talented. But sometimes it is hard for introvert artist types to handle the business end which requires being extroverted and competitive. So this is what we talked about today...how to balance things out and climb those learning curves. For 25 years I had every pet imaginable including fish, fowl, and mammal...so I did take a break these last five years. Getting a dog is like having a kid...a commitment. Cats less so...but there is the commitment to cleaning the litter box...something I will never again do. Lord, I am barely able to clean up after myself these days... Thanks, Mom and all Moms in the Mom Club. ![]()
