Today makes 15 days I've gone vape free. It's a huge milestone. Quitting vaping has been the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I shared the good news with my mother. She didn't congratulate me. She asked if I still had e-Cigarettes in the house. I said no, of course. Then she gave me a hard time about vaping in the first place. Like lecturing me. I felt very bad after talking with her. This is typical behavior for her. She never shares the joy in anything. I think 15 days is awesome. I'm sad my mom wasn't happy for me.

Great job Deilla, that is a huge accomplishment, Im waiting for my brother to quit vaping now too!

Anyway, could your mother just be fearful for you and it translates into negativity or what seems like negativity, I wonder why she went back to lecturing that vapings no good after you told her your 15 days vape free.

Keep up the good work

Congratulations on quitting! It sounds like your mother doesn’t know how to be happy and supportive.

Thank you! I think I'm going to celebrate tonight by watch the new Trolls movie.

I guess my mom was just being negative as usual. She can never say anything positive about anything. I don't plan to call her any time soon. She'll have to call me. And as usual I'll just listen to her. But good thing is, I'm getting off the phone quicker now.

One good thing I did for myself was text my sisters and step mom that I had gone 15 days without vaping. They were supportive.

Thank you! Yes, my mother has rarely been supportive. I thought she would have been happy for me. I won't bring up the subject again with her.

You rock, girl!!!!
I’m a smoker and my last hope is the new meds that came out recently. So, I will go for a medical prescription. Hope, I will be so strong as you.

You think your mother doesn’t get happy for you?
There are some people who doesn’t know how to show this happiness because they only stress on the negative side in every situation. Maybe, she thought that she was doing supportive by talking to you once more ( I guess) about the harmless of vapes.
Surely, she doesn’t realise of how difficult is to quit one of these habits.

Thank you! I'm using the patch and nicorette gum. I'm glad the medicine is an option for you. I wish you luck!

Yes, perhaps my mom thought she was being supportive. She's just not in touch with good emotional support. It really bothers me. What I don't understand is me... why do I keep trying? Nothing ever changes. Last time I quit calling, she got worried. Maybe I'll just call once a week and not expect anything from her. Just talk about cooking and gardening. That's safe.
