Yes, it’s necessary. I am just used to talking to him daily so feels like a part of me has been ripped out

Replace it with something else. At the time when you called him, now do instead: watch tv show, shopping, talk to someone else instead, clean, read a book, cook

You cry, call a friend, eat icecream, have cups of tea, binge watch a guilty pleasure and cry some more. One day you will wake up and the ache in your heart will be a little more dull.

(((Roxanne))) keep reminding yourself that YOU are the one that is leaving this relationship not him. You are taking your power back and choosing not to be abused. You are making the right choice, the healthier choice for yourself. You are learning to be strong for yourself.

You get through it by being kind to yourself and honouring your need to stay away from this person.
Mindfulness exercises can be really helpful, when anxiety becomes a problem. I have a link to a really funny one (it does contain some profanity). Let me know and I will share the link here, if you can stand to hear a few salty swear words) ![]() Each day gets a little better. Remember you are changing what was likely a bad habit or repeating pattern with this person, so the longer you are able to maintain no contact, the better off you will be, until one day you get to a place where no contact is no longer a state you are in, it is simply you getting on with life. Wish you well with that. ![]() |

It was you who made the decision?
I tell you because in case you made the decision it would be a good exercise to remember which points led you to this choice. All the advise given before are fantastic, you have to support yourself now on people who are on your side and offer you healthy relations, the more you have of this, the more you are gonna see that you don’t want what this other person has to offer. I know it’s not easy, probably one of the most difficult things you have to do in life.
