I love my boyfriend but he makes me feel disrespected and bad. He is very vocal politically and also about people he does and doesn't know. I was happy with myself and my life before him.

Free yourself and find that happy again. You'll meet someone else who will respect you.. as long as you learn to set boundaries, tap in to your gut instincts, and recognize the toxic behaviours you're drawn to. |

What do you get out of this relationship and why do you stay? As in what is good about what you two have going?

When people say ‘I love him but...’, I think the ‘but’ means they don’t ‘love him’. He sounds bad for you, not treating you well, not a great person, a racist?, sexist?, jerk? Boyfriends are easy to break up with.
