HI Fuzzybear. You are an inspiration for seeking tips to be a better person. Everyone that tries can help improve their situation.

First thing I do is pick a quality that I may want to change. For me, it is my anger that comes up at times and sometimes I cannot control it. It is a long process for me to work on that. I am still trying not to react when others say things that are hurtful or remind me of the past.

I guess for me, youtube videos help me get started. Here are a few I use

Padraig O'Morain on Self-Compassion

Of course whatever qualities you want to change in yourself, you can find similar videos by going to youtube and putting those words in the search box or doing google search.
All the best to you

FuzzyBear, what brings you to ask this question?

You are one of the kindest and most loving people around!

So I am wondering: how much are you getting bothered by anti-Bear, parental-unit-type voices telling lies about you?

Hi Bill,
Thanks
I am bothered a lot by anti-Bear, parental unit type voices in my head telling lies about me
Since I can’t tolerate meds it’s sometimes hard to turn these voices off. People like you who speak the Truth with kindness are helpful to me

This is such a broad question. I guess one would pick a quality/behaviour that's least favourable and replace it with something positive.

Also, focus on what one DOES like about oneself and apply those qualities more often until they develop a balance of who they want to be..?

Great question!

FuzzyBear, I'm with Bill. You are one of the kindest, sweetest people at PC. Is this about wanting to change yourself or is more about countering those voices in your head?
