Hi, I am posting this message, because I am having a hard time feeling confident enough to date due to various emotions. I’ve experienced a very emotionally and mentally abusive relationship in the past. I suffered from PTSD and low-self esteem; but I am wanting to move forward and forget everything. Questions arise within me like, “Will they accept me? How do I talk about my mental health? Will I be taken advantage of? How do I express my emotions when I am having a difficult mental health day?” Many things go through my mind. I am concerned that I will always be alone.
Hugs from:

So Sorry you're feeling like this. It is perfectly understandable that you'd feel like this given your past traumas. i agree with the wise and wonderful Open Eyes that Perhaps a visit with a therapist may be a good idea to try to work things out if you aren't seeing one already? It is likely important to work on ourselves before deciding to pursue relationships with others. Please do not give up Hope. Sending many safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, @Health Warrior, your Family, your Friends, your future Partner and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?!

Are you male or female?
Are you in therapy? Maybe you can work on your insecurity in therapy before you date. Imo, being single is the bees knees. Most of us want a relationship. But...where is your fear of being alone coming from? Why would it be a bad thing to be single? We are never alone.
