I've had a crush on someone for a year or more and it's go on for so long that I find myself helplessly missing them and I just want to **** away my feelings for them. I know people tell me I shouldn't do it but I really need to get over my feelings and I hope sex with a friend will help me. What's the best way to overcome feelings for someone?

I don’t know your situation but I suspect trying to have a one night stand with a friend is likely to make it worse rather than better. I am sorry to tell you this. I don’t know if you would consider trying to be compassionate with yourself? Perhaps treating yourself to a nice meal out (or in), or a walk down a favourite part of town you might have, visiting the little shops. Taking very good care of yourself, and recognizing that you deserve love. And that if you simply embrac that thought, it will come in its own time.

It is very normal and natural to be drawn to other people, and sadly, we can’t have them all. But if you are able to be compassionate enough to let this person go, and wish them well, love will find you in its own due course…

I agree, it probably isn't in YOUR best interest to 'f away' feelings. I think it is best to take time for yourself.
