No I’m quite sure you didn’t do anything wrong. She’s likely downgraded the friendship for reasons beyond your control. It can be hurtful when you feel invested in a friendship for this to happen, it can feel like rejection. The good news though is that she’s still in touch and you’re still friends, the door is still open. I think it’s normal for friendships to have closer and less close phases. I find it helpful to think that way about it anyway.

Do you feel like this experience and ones like it trigger feelings of rejection from an earlier part of your life? I’m asking because that has happened to me before.
