I have cptsd and my husband is a veteran. He has ptsd too but denies it. I am back in psychotherapy but I see now he is hypervigilant. Always checking news several times daily waiting for all of society to crash. I was blamed for our problems because this watching stressed me out to the max. We have stopped arguing but he is not ever going to let go or stop.

First, sorry about your own struggles with C-PTSD. From what you described, it doesn't seem that your husband is open to therapy. Would he listen to other men who also have ptsd? Perhaps there's a group, maybe online even... Does he have a dog? Dogs can be quite therapeutic for people who have ptsd. |

Did your husband tour in active duty where he was exposed to combat?

Yes. I am afraid he will react to something that is not necessary. I have pretty much stopped my looking at the news. I resumed emdr and am starting fear extinction exercise on my own. I am back in therapy. World situation bad. I can only control me.

We have 2 dogs. They are my documented ESAs. No he will not discuss this with other men. A veteran told him after he was discharged just throw all this out of the window

The world situation is upsetting a lot of people right now. All you can do is try to limit your own exposure to all the negativity that you can do nothing about.
I am sorry that your husband is insisting on engaging the constant stream of negative news. It’s not good for anyone that struggles with PTSD. Unfortunately, ptsd affects the nervous system and it doesn’t take much to disrupt the nervous system that can actually get physically painful. |

Maybe he needs his own ESA dog. I have a new puppy who is 6 months old now. He doesn't give me any time to really focus on anything else trying to keep him out of trouble. He is an aussie Shepherd & they enjoy agility or herding. Might be something like that could at least distract your husband's thinking & give him a good healthy outlet for his mind
