It's been a couple weeks since my boyfriend came out and admitted to being a sex addict and he hasn't mentioned it again since. I broke NC because he said he was ready to finally admit it and because he missed me. I was empathetic and understanding of his newly admitted "problem" and I offered nothing but support so where is this addiction? He told me he has bad days and such like any other addict does but why hasn't he needed support since that day? Something isn't right here.

Especially because I found history of a particular hook up app being uninstalled the night he got back from a work trip twice before he picked me up. When i confronted him he completely denies it. It's obviously what it looks like there's no possible alternative explanation. Its time stamped for christ sake. How can he keep denying it? I cannot wrap my head around it. If it were me I'd be red faced and stuttering or something?! How can someone cling to their innocence when its an obvious lie?!

You're not saying he was diagnosed with this by a qualified physician/therapist. Is he self-diagnosed? If so, he's hiding behind a label.

You don't need to be "empathetic and understanding" here. You should be running for the hills because as long as he's going on work trips he will probably always be acting out.

No legal entanglement here - cut your losses and move on. No contact = no new hurt. This is like a car with 1 wheel - it'll never really drive right.

Whatever the reason(s), it says a lot about his character - he is not trustworthy and will lie to save his skin, rather than own up and take accountability. He won't change.
