I've been sick last 45 years with many disorders including severe mood disorder and I've told my father everything. He hasn't listened to a thing I've said all those years and doesn't know the first thing about me.
My energy has been horrible since I had ECT 30 years ago and told him I've spent most of last 20 years in bed and he didn't believe me. Especially last year because Prozac destroyed me 2 years ago and I couldn't get out of bed until last June. He kept telling me to go across the street for food and I told him I couldn't get out of bed and he totally ignored me!
Last year he told me he doesn't know what mood is! I couldn't believe it! And he told me he never knew i had nervous breakdowns! He drove me to the hospital 6 times in early 90s after I completely broke down!
I told him a few months ago that I was done with him because he refuses to listen to a thing I say!
If I sound agitated it's because I am. I have agitated depression just like all of my mother's family had.

I have a hard time picturing your interactions with your father. Typically, when what we say falls on deaf ears, and repeatedly so, we shut down and stop speaking to the same person because we lose hope that the person will change the behavior, become empathetic and attentive (all of a sudden?) and hear us out at last. And yet you say that you told your father everything. So what sustained your interest in being heard by your father despite what appears to be decades of complete lack of interest and understanding on his part?

It definitely sounds like you've grown up in a toxic family system. Best thing you can do is distance yourself from it, if possible.
