He's making me go thru all my baby stuff!!!! MY little baby outfits I used to wear, my first communion dress and tiara... EVERYTHING!! He wants me to get rid of it! I dont know that I can part with that stuff! I was going to let my little girl( If I ever had one) play with this stuff. I know its no use in keeping it since I wont be having kids.. but geeeeeeeeeeez.... why do I have to give it up because of that?

Wait a minute - why do you have to give it up? How much stuff is it? Can you get one of those Rubbermaid bins and keep as much fits in there, as long as it's out of the way?

Do you have nieces or young cousins you can give the things to? I had a kimono my father brought me when I was 2 (1952) from Japan and no children of my own so gave it to my husband's granddaughter since my father-in-law was also in the Navy and stationed in Japan when my husband was 13ish, so it seemed appropriate and felt right to me.

Lame,it's yours he needs to back off and let it be there's more important stuff in life than to make these kinds of ultimatums.
You give in to this it just may open the flood gates to equally (if not more so) trivial edicts for you to follow. It's important to choose your battles wisely though. |

I think he started to see after awhile that it was upsetting me more and more. I didnt throw anything away that I felt I couldnt part with. It hit me even harder when I came across a birthday card and our anniversary card the last year that my mom was with us.I've come across so much today. Just unbelieveable. Reciepts from when my mom bought her first car in 1963... my flash cards from grade school.. Old Maid Cards lol.All found in my school box( you know the old ones made out of carboard like material) from second and yes even I used it again for third grade.. I had to laugh too when I came across " Chemist Clyde " LOL. I could just see our Clyde here dressed up as a chemist lol. Ohhh.. those were the days. I guess even though it started out being really hurtful.. its turned out to be a good thing... that put a big smile on my face. I'm sorry I panicked here. I just had a hard time thinking of losing " more " of what was treasured by my mom.. because she made sure she kept these things for me.

Who make you do that? The right thing to do then is to ask that person why they wont you to get rid stuff .Then you can decide wether or not you agree with them or disagree.
