I've had the experience of both types of mom's Katt. My mom doesn't wake me up (even when I ask), especially when I was home on college break. She said she believes it is my vacation, and if I want to "sleep it away" my mother! that is my choice. So when I would visit her, I would set my alarm if I wanted up, or had plans.

On the other hand, my hubby's mom was opposite. If we went there to visit, she made sure we were up by 9:30 at the latest. Well...she made sure hubby was up. I got to sleep. Not being related by blood pays off! Hehe. Usually she woke him up between 7 and 8. Personally, I resented it.

I don't have any advice.....but I feel your pain. I hope it gets better. And I say...sleep `til you want. It's your life. But it's up to you if you want to fight that battle.

my mother!Katt my mother!

Tell your mother that it was 7am somewhere in the world you were just trying to stay in their time zone! (I don't know if she would like that response or not..LOL)

Remember, some people will never understand what it is like to walk in others shoes! Even Mothers sometimes are wrong with their advice. We all are only human. Try to talk to her, if this is a issue that you feel is bothering you.. address it with her. It could be possible she was having a bad day or she was in some weird way worried about you because you were sleeping to long in her opinion.

Good Luck to you!

Kathy

Lots of people sleep til noon. Shift workers, teenagers (research shows they need to), etc. Take heart. I, too, am often a late sleeper. It's important to get your sleep.
