I have a former teacher, i adore beyond belief. She used to be my teacher in high school and now that i am out of high school, i see her often when i help judge debate tournaments..( she is the assistant coach) .but i want to reach a new level with her...we are on the basis of texting when necessary...talking like friends (compared to a student/teacher basis) and shes driven me home a few times. but i want more....do u think theres any chance of achieving more...or am i stuck where i am and have to learn to deal with it. i dont want anything more than friendship..but i dont feel our friendship has reached a point im comfortable at. what i really want...i guess for her to text me before i have to text her...or hear from her besides when i need her help on something....its asking alot because i know we arent friends but until i get that, i wont be happy... :'(

Is your former teacher acting as a mentor in supporting you now? And is there an age gap? It could be that the teacher likes you and is supporting you as someone would for a former student.

How about just coming straight out with it and asking if you could be friends.

haha i guess she could be a mentor. not really. shes helpin me out with my english papers and such...but not in a way that she feels compelled to...just 5 minute hints here and there and then she'll read and correct my papers if i ask her too. and yes, she is 28 and im 18...alittle less than a 10 year age gap...and idk about that...im not the most forth coming person...asking her to be friends feels too forward and i dont wanna push her away by being too forward ya know?...idk
