January -- I think that's true, to some extent.
I also think that we can, if we want, begin to study and discern that different of facets of "love," so that we more clearly distinguish between love and logic. Some examples: Our society frequently confuses the rush of "falling in love," usually involving lust as well, with being in love, or loving. The Greeks had many names for love -- distinguishing maternal love, brotherly love, erotic love, and agape, a word that is difficult to translate -- the kind of great expansive love we feel when we are in nature, but with a transcendent component to it. When we see the face of God written in the clouds kind of thing. I think we can learn to feel compassionate love for people, perhaps even people such as murderers who have behaved very badly, while at the same time making logical decisions about how to treat such people that serve the good and safety of the community. But yes, at bottom, I believe that love may confound logic.
