yesterday my session went horrible i think im in a fantasy love world with my group t (male) but also love him like a dad anyway i had individual with t before group seperate my t is female anyway she asked me if my feelings for my t had changed and i told her it shifted a little to the romantic side but i was not picturing sex yet just everything else romantic wise meanwhile my group t did not show up to my session to discuss my dad transference he doesnt have a clue i like him romantically anyway my individual t decided i should quit group until we process this transference because she is worried about it mixing together with our trauma work and blah blah blah anyway bottom line after individual i was not suppose to see group t but i went anyway pulled him out of group explained a little that i wont be seeing him anymore and i hugged him he hugged me back he said he would miss me i told him i will see u in my session soon but i am so crushed

Transference is so painful...I know....but it will start to change...morph so to speak as you become stronger.

thank you moxie for understanding and replying to my post its very kind of you, its just that my would be ptsd group is on wednesday and i was told not to attend and its like a void i miss him bunches i wish i could get rid of this feeling its so confusing to me because it snuck up on me and quickly shifted from dad tranference to romantic transference

Did your main T say how many sessions of group to skip? Or did she not give you a number?

im skipping at least 4 weeks of group therapy and she said we will take it from there but by then group will almost be half way over so its no use to me and i will be embarassed to go back, i guess i will have to make sense of this some how to me i didnt think it was a big deal only of course that maybe i was not concentrating to much in ptsd group as much as i was in a fantasy world with this group t

I'm really sorry. I personally think your T is wrong to pull one of your supports because of transference.

I think so as well but since I'm new to this I don't know what's wrong or right all I know is that I feel confused and being punished but on the other hand he is a group t so I can't fully work out my transference issues with him I guess
